The Lloyd family founded Coriole in 1967, and are considered pioneers in the McLaren Vale region, and visionaries in the planting of Italian and French varieties. Long before it was fashionable, Mark Lloyd developed vineyards of Sangiovese, Picpoul, Chenin Blanc, Nero d’Avola, and others, plus of course, Shiraz. They are considered one of the leading lights of the region..

Press Review

    Coriole Fiano 2023
Seem to have missed reviewing 2020 through to 2022, not sure why.
It’s a more delicate iteration of this wine, though it does not lack flavour. It’s fine and tight, apple, preserved lemon, aniseed and green herbs, a little briny too, with some almond flavour, fine chalky texture, and a long finish of excellent purity. What a cracker.

    Coriole Fiano 2023
Coriole is a pioneer of fiano in this country, aptly punting on a southern Italian grape that holds its form in warm conditions. This iteration is from a pretty cool season, though, and the freshness shows in the glass, with bright notes of yellow grapefruit, lemon pith, pea tendrils and soft herbs. It’s a flavourful wine of intent, fragrant, gently textural and chalky, zippy but not brusque.
