Reviews & Accolades

Shy Susan Blanc de Blancs 2018
"Shy Susan is an endangered Tassie wildflower that relies on pollination from just one native bee. The front label and message are as striking as the wine itself, a distinctly individual Tasmanian sparkling with class. Honey cake, nectarine, white peach, grapefruit, lemon curd. Brings an oyster shell rockpool mineral tang to the palate in line with superfine bubbles. Beautifully expressive." 94 points, Jeni Port, Halliday Wine Companion

About this Producer

The cool climate project of husband and wife Glenn James and Jo Marsh, where the sole focus is producing wines of elegance and poise. They became Halliday darlings when Shy Susan debuted as Best New Winery in the 2020 Companion. Sourcing fruit from only the most exceptional vineyards, the wines are produced in miniscule quantities. The beautiful label art is the ‘Shy Susan (Tetratheca gunnii); a critically endangered wildflower endemic to a tiny part of Tasmania. Her survival depends completely on
a little native bee, who alone is capable of pollination. Their fate is forever entwined.’
