Vigorous Bros. Autumn Releases

Coming This April!

New releases from 'Heroes Vineyard':

2017 was quite a tough year across southern Australia. Cold and multiple rain event towards the end of vintage made ripening quite difficult, especially in marginal regions like the Otways where the Heroes Vineyard is located. Despite dropping fruit, winemaker James could not get his shiraz to ripen, and faced the prospect of losing his entire crop. Summoning the old adage 'When life gives you lemons, make lemonade' James figured, if 'a bad vintage gave him underripe Shiraz, he'd make Rosé'. With the Pinot Noir also presenting a challenge James decided to declassify a selection of barrels he didn't feel were up to the standard he expects, thus was born the 2017 'Anti-Hero' Pinot Noir.

Working a small 3.8 hectare vineyard himself, farming organically, and not using irrigation, James Thomas is the epitome of a one-man winemaking band. His 2017 Releases are a true testament of his skill, and ability to adapt his wines to the vintage conditions.

New releases from Gestalt:

Despite losing access to the fantastic old-vine Grenache vineyard in the Clare Valley, which provided the backbone to their Serotina Grenache/Shiraz blend, Anthony and Craig, have perhaps produced the best of this wine to date. Sourcing fruit form the Barossa instead, they have changed the blend of the wines and added Cinsault to the mix. A 65/27/8 GCS mix, has produced a light, fragrant and spicy wine which bellies its Barossa origins, and showcases the blending skills of this dynamic duo.
