"The 2023 00 Wines EGW Chardonnay begins with a pale ivory tone and opens into aromas of crushed river stones, bergamot, and early spring pear, all lifted by a faint hint of chamomile. As the wine unfolds, a gentle creaminess stretches across the palate, carrying flavors of baked quince and preserved lemon that gather richness without ever feeling heavy. A sleek line of acidity flows underneath, shaping the wine with clarity and giving each sip a refreshing drive. Subtle notes of hazelnut skin and airy vanilla bean glide in near the finish, weaving themselves into the wine’s naturally vibrant profile. "This wine blends clones and appellations, with Dijon clones from the Eola-Amity Hills and Old Wente Chardonnay from the very old vine site, Chehalem Mountain Vineyard. It has a reductive and smoky aromatic profile with flashes of fresh-cut lemon, chipped flint, and seaspray. There's a vibrance to this Chardonnay, yet it carries weight in the texture with flavours of salted lemon wedge, lifted citrus zest, and a salty oyster brine that carries through the finish. Ultra-luxury, small producer, 00 Wines (Double Zero) was started in the Willamette Valley in 2013.  Upon release of their bottlings each year, collectors have early, though limited, ability to obtain an allocation of the wines available to club members and enthusiasts alike. Family-owned and operated by proprietors Chris and Kathryn Hermann, and in partnership with their international team in France, 00 Wines produce approximately 1,500 cases, blending bi-continental winemaking talents in pursuit of excellence.
