Reviews & Accolades

    Coriole Sangiovese 2023

"Coming off five sites, and seven clones, this was raised in older oak for 11 months. Referential to Tuscan origins, but its local identity firmly rooted, this is a thoroughly engaging expression, classically redolent of red cherries, woody herbs, dried flowers and a grounded, dry-toned earthiness. Spice notes, too. The varietal tannin and acid union tension the palate, with fruit contained, wound in, but not quashed. It’s approachable and fragrant, speaking of the cool year, but that immediate appeal is paired with layered detail, too." 94 Points, Special Value, Marcus Ellis, Halliday Wine Companion

"Always a very nice wine, and great value too.
Cherry, almond, aniseed, a smattering of dried herbs, maybe lavender. It’s medium-bodied, kind of juicy, kind of savoury, there’s some strawberry in with cherry, some grainy grip to tannin, slightly ferrous, gently bitter with amaro, and the finish is fresh and pretty long. It’s maybe a little more crunchy and herbal than some vintages, and yet, it still lays on the charm. Nice. I do like a wine that doesn’t try too hard to be anything other than a great drink." 93 Points, Gary Walsh, The Wine Front

"Bright, cherry red and vivid in the glass. Pretty aromas of sour cherry, redcurrant, dried flowers, briar, wet earth and spice. Lively, crunchy and red and blue fruit driven. There’s some textured and chalky tannins delivering shape and mouth-feel and the acidity has plenty of ping and zip. This has real purity and varietal typicity and importantly, real drinkability." 92 Points, Aaron Brasher, The Real Review

"Gorgeous red garnet hues. Rosebud, goji berries and fresh pomegranate. Paprika spice and dry autumn leaves. Rosemary and marjoram. Skipping skittles of acidity and driven by powdery but firm tannins. Excellent value and representative of the true shape of Sangiovese. Drink now–2038" 92 Points, The Vintage Journal
