Derwent Estate Lime Kiln Pinot Noir 2021

"Poached strawberry, hazelnut, a little spice, mint and herb. It’s a slippery and squishy wine, lots of sweet strawberry, and not so much oak influence, some orange peel tang, soft and spicy to finish. A little sweet and simple, but pleasant in that way." 90 Points, Gary Walsh, The Wine Front

About this Producer

Derwent Estate, planted on the historic Mt Nassau property just north of Hobart, has been in the same family since 1913. With three generations involved in the family business today, this genuine cool climate site on north-facing, Calcareous soil slopes has gained a reputation for consistent, outstanding quality fruit, most notably Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Riesling. They approach the vineyard with a gentle management philosophy; and a purpose-built winery completed in 2013 made with straw bales cleverly retains the ideal natural ground temperature for the production and maturation of the wines.
