Domaine Jolivet L'Instinct St Joseph 2021

"Very meaty, lots of cracked black pepper and black olive, blackcurrant and blackberry, quite minty. Medium-bodied, all the blood and beef dripping, very N.Rhone expression here, quite saline and yet, kind of juicy, with a cool herb strewn finish of good length. You have to like them savoury, and this is indeed very much that, though it does have a cool feel and some blackberry tang through the finish." 92 Points,Gary Walsh, The Wine Front

Located in the superb St Joseph commune of Saint-Jean-de-Muzols, Bastien Jolivet, 3rd generation winemaker, released his first vintage in 2014. He returned to the family business after gaining extensive experience working for Stéphane Montez of Domaine du Monteillet, and multiple stints overseas. The estate today includes 8ha in St. Joseph, with 7ha being allocated to red and 1ha to white vines, all within close proximity to the famed Hermitage vineyards.
