    Jane Eyre Bourgogne Rouge 2023

From 2 parcels in Mercurey. 10% whole bunch and 10% new oak.
“It’s a nice wine and it drinks well too. Cherry, strawberry, spice, a little earthiness and hazelnut. Medium-bodied, nutty with red fruits and some perfume, tannin offers a light powdery grip, acidity is balanced if not a little sappy, and it finishes with good length. Altogether pleasant.” 90 Points, Gary Walsh, The Wine Front

"Pale ruby. Bright red-cherry fruit with good fragrance. Light powdery tannins, crisp acidity. It’s simple and uncomplicated." Michael Howard MW, JancisRobinson.com

About this Producer

Jane Eyre is an Australian micro-négociant who has been living and working in Beaune for more than 20 years. She made a distinct mark in Burgundy in 2021 when she was awarded a coveted Négociant of the Year award for her label of distinguished wines with a focus on Pinot Noir. Jane also returns to Australia each year to make a line of terroir-driven Pinot Noir bottlings from exceptional sites in Victoria and Tasmania. There is a lightness of touch thread to her wines from both continents that attracts a strong following.
