Jane Eyre Gevrey-Chambertin 2023
“The fruit for this wine is sourced from 2 vineyards in Gevrey Chambertin, aged between 35-55 years old. Combe du Dessus which is just opposite the Chateau of Chambertin and En Champs, a little further along the slope opposite the 1er cru vineyard Champeaux.”
"Red cherry, strawberry, spice, sage, with that typical Gevrey earthiness in tow. It’s medium-bodied, quite juicy in red fruit, plenty of spice and a light smokey bitterness. There’s some sappiness and a cranberry crunch to acidity, a fine dusty and grainy feel to tannin, with a bright red fruit and orange zest finish of good length. It’s a little reticent as at now, though I’m pretty sure it will show better given a few years in the cellar." 92 Points, Gary Walsh, The Wine Front
"Mid ruby. Refined nose of cherry and strawberry. Quite ample on the palate with ripe texture and quite concentrated. Finishes fine and light-footed." Michael Howard MW, JancisRobinson.com
