Jane Eyre Mornington Peninsula Pinot Noir 2025

"The same 1990s-planted site and the same winemaking approach: wild ferment with 20% whole bunches, 10% new oak. This is an elegantly framed release from what was a warm year, with an earlier pick yielding finesse and a savoury dimension. It’s open in fragrance, perfumed and lifted with red fruits, but there’s a cooler side, a dusting of spice, a mulchy forest floor and snapped twig element. Jane Eyre has become a reputable name in Burgundy, reaching great heights in 2021 after being awarded the prestigious Négociant of the Year award by La Revue du Vin de France. Each year she returns to her home state of Victoria, as well as Tasmania, to produce a line of terroir-driven Pinot Noirs in limited quantities from exceptional sites. There is a cohesive style across both the French and Australian Pinot Noirs, a thread of clarity and expression of vintage and place, that has built a strong following.
