"On my first visit I tried the two components separately and the blend, which I preferred then, confirmed again on retasting it subsequently. The Arvelets on it’s own was on the under-rip side while the Clos Blanc needed a touch more energy. The blend is much better than either because the Clos Blanc fills out the middle while the Arvelets gives the class of Jane Eyre's style. No more than Ruby in colour, with very perfumed alpine strawberries, with some extra weight behind. Indeed, this muscles up quite nicely at the back. Drink from 2028-2034." Jane Eyre is an Australian micro-négociant who has been living and working in Beaune for more than 20 years. She made a distinct mark in Burgundy in 2021 when she was awarded a coveted Négociant of the Year award for her label of distinguished wines with a focus on Pinot Noir. Jane also returns to Australia each year to make a line of terroir-driven Pinot Noir bottlings from exceptional sites in Victoria and Tasmania. There is a lightness of touch thread to her wines from both continents that attracts a strong following.
