Jean-Paul et Charly Thévenet Morgon Vieilles Vignes 2023
"This is a more open and juicy expression than the Tradition, almond, mint, strawberry and curry spice. Fine dusty tannin grip, distinct poached strawberry sweetness, peppery and dry on a finish of good length. Good wine, but maybe a bit gummy to close." 91 Points, Gary Walsh, The Wine Front
Jean-Paul Thévenet is another name in Beaujolais' famous 'Gang of Four' not to be missed. Nestled in the small village of Villié-Morgon, Jean-Paul with his son Charly, a former apprentice of his father and Marcel Lapierre and now a rising star in his own right, have combined to release the wines under the Jean-Paul et Charly Thévenet label. Farming organically and biodynamically at the family's 5 ha home vineyard in Morgon, as well as a parcel of 80-year-old vines in the up-and-coming cru of Régnié.
