KAIJIN means "seaman" in Japanese, named for the fishermen who take on Okinawa's waters. Blended from grain whisky and vintage malt whisky using techniques Masahiro Shuzo has refined since 1883, it's light-bodied yet rich, with an exotic, tropical aroma and a harmonious, elegant finish.
Founded in 1883 in Itoman, Okinawa, Masahiro Distillery is one of the oldest and largest distilleries in Japan's only subtropical prefecture. Built on 140+ years of Awamori craftsmanship and now, under 8th-generation owner Masataka Higa, producing genuinely distinctive Japanese whisky. Two ranges join the Fesq & Co portfolio: Kujira Ryukyu Whisky (100% Indica rice, native black koji) and the Masahiro Pure Malt / Kaijin blended range.
