Masahiro 12 Year Old is a World Malt Whisky distilled from 100% malted barley, then matured at Masahiro Distillery in Okinawa. The subtropical climate speeds up flavour extraction from the oak, giving it a uniquely fruity character. Aged at least 11 years in American oak ex-bourbon hogsheads and finished for 12 months in first-fill Oloroso Sherry casks.
Founded in 1883 in Itoman, Okinawa, Masahiro Distillery is one of the oldest and largest distilleries in Japan's only subtropical prefecture. Built on 140+ years of Awamori craftsmanship and now, under 8th-generation owner Masataka Higa, producing genuinely distinctive Japanese whisky. Two ranges join the Fesq & Co portfolio: Kujira Ryukyu Whisky (100% Indica rice, native black koji) and the Masahiro Pure Malt / Kaijin blended range.
