"Primarily Lovedale, some old vine, with some 8 acres, and a new (but old) block that sits over from the winery on sandy soil that was purchased from Draytons.
"Slightly peachy, citrus, pink grapefruit, a bit floral but not estery: very clean. Bright, flavoursome, a nice chalky pucker to texture, lime and lime rind, nicely balanced, sherbetty acidity, with juicy grapefruit finish of excellent length. A lot of energy here and a very good wine. A tickle of spritz. A fair bit of crunch. Excellent." 94 Points, Gary Walsh, The Wine Front

The famed estate of Mount Pleasant has a well-storied past, founded by the visionary of Australian wine, Maurice O’Shea. It includes plantings of ancestral vines of 1880, as well as Australia’s oldest mother vine Pinot Noir planted in 1921 by O’Shea himself. It is the home of some of the first fine wines of Australia, and with just five winemakers over its 100-year history, it has maintained its status as a benchmark of the Hunter classics, Shiraz and Semillon.
