Mr. Riggs Montepulciano d'Adelaide 6pk 2021
Winemaker Ben (Mr.) Riggs follows the philosophy “iconic wines from iconic regions”. Whether it’s McLaren Vale Shiraz, Coonawarra Cabernet, or Clare Valley Riesling, his wines are expressing the essence of the vineyard and variety in a style that is big, rich and complex, but also with finesse, texture and elegance. In Ben’s own words: “Think Ella Fitzgerald – bombastic and powerful with a huge vocal range, yet with purity of tone and a gentle sensibility when needed.”

Mr. Riggs Montepulciano d'Adelaide 2021
Sourced from two single sites, one in the Adelaide Hills and the other in Blewitt Springs. Machine harvested. Wild yeast fermentation, seven to 10 days on skins and six to eight months in mostly used oak. Sweet dark-fruit allusions, dried tobacco, oodles of spice and a mocha oak note. Fruit sweetness teems across the structural latticework, with a squeegee of tannins drying the finish. A little less of both would be nice.
