Mr. Riggs The Magnet Grenache 2024

"In this case, Riggs has journeyed to McLaren Vale to source the Grenache from a very good year. It’s once again that modern style, so it’s lighter in the medium-bodied zone, but there is no lack of fruit intensity and flavour. The nose displays all those floral, raspberry, rose petal notes that you might expect, while the palate has a subtle, savoury rusticness running through it, contributing to a slightly grainy texture, but loads of deeply intense bright red fruits, and a slightly crunchy watermelon cranberry feel that I found most appealing." 94 Points, Ray Jordan, Wine Pilot

“Bright crimson in colour with vibrant ruby clarity, reflecting both freshness and varietal purity. The nose is lifted and aromatic, opening with wild raspberry, red cherry and crushed strawberry layered with subtle white pepper, dried thyme and a gentle earthy undertone. Medium-bodied and finely structured, the palate delivers supple red fruit framed by silky tannins and vibrant acidity. The texture is smooth yet precise, allowing the natural brightness of Grenache to shine. Subtle spice and dried herb notes build through the mid-palate, leading to a long, elegant finish marked by red berry persistence and refined savoury detail. A pretty style of McLaren Vale Grenache, showing clarity and balance. Elegant, expressive and beautifully"  balanced. Drink now with T-Chow duck” 94 Points, Vino Masters

"The fruit here is sweet but the length, mouthfeel and overall impression is delicious plus plus. This is a lovely wine to drink. It tastes of raspberry, potpourri, peppercorns and sweet, roasted spices, and both the overall flow and the finesse of the tannin are spot on. McLaren Vale grenache, once again, for the win." 93 Points, Campbell Mattinson, The Wine Front

"Poached strawberry, orange and rhubarb, redcurrant gelee, cranberry sauce, dark rose petals. This is lightly coloured, vibrant and forward, with some complexing spices – white pepper, cardamom, mace. The palate flows in the same vein, with some upfront fruitful appeal that is marshalled down a savoury line, and in an orderly, considered way." 92 Points, Special Value, Marcus Ellis, Halliday Wine Companion

"A delicate crimson in the glass. The wine is joyous with tangerine skin, Rainier cherries and musk. Fruit is kept bright and lively, really honing in on that crunch of watermelon and raspberry slushie with some sandy tannins. You might be tempted to think that, at the price, this isn’t a serious wine, but it’s held by its fine structure and yet offers so much drinkability and immediate pleasure. A wide burgundy glass will show it off, but you could also just throw bottles on the table with party pies and have the time of your life. Magnetic in its drawcard to fun. Drink now–2028" 91 Points, The Vintage Journal
