Pegasus Bay Age Release Prima Donna Pinot Noir 2015

"Combining power with sophistication, the wine shows dark berry, charcuterie, toasted spice, porcini, fine lather, and hazelnut aromas on the nose. The opulent palate is both graceful and structured with gorgeous complexity, wonderfully framed by beautifully melded tannins, finishing impressively long and gratifying." 98 Points, Sam Kim – Wine Writer, NZ, Wine Orbit

“Deep ruby-red with a slight garnet hue, lighter on the rim. The nose is voluminous, with concentrated aromas of black cherry, blackberry, olive, black tea, herbs, sweet spice, dried shiitake and dried floral. Medium-full bodied, aromas of black cherry, dried blackberry and tapenade intertwined with black tea, nutmeg, cinnamon, liquorice, dried hibiscus and dried shiitake. The wine is detailed in layers; the fruit possesses vitality and concentration, accompanied by spice with sharpness and edge. Silky tannins carry floral and black tea fragrances throughout and provide a fine, enduring structure. Impressive, refined and persistent … " 19.5/20  Candice Chow, Raymond Chan Wine Reviews

"A decade old when it was rereleased recently, the 2015 vintage was grown at Waipara, in North Canterbury. Hand-harvested from the estate's oldest vines, it was matured for 18 months in French oak barriques. It has full, moderately developed colour. Currently a lovely mouthful, it is weighty and sweet-fruited, with supple tannins and layers of cherry, spice and nut flavours, revealing notable complexity. A distinguished red, rich and very savoury.…" 5 STARS, Michael Cooper Independent Wine Reviewer

"Beautiful berry perfume, raspberry, plum and pomegranate in harmony. Delicate chestnut mushroom, refined tapenade, this is a real “Gevrey” style. A layered, complex wine of great beauty, it is both rich and refreshing, a velvety ‘pure class’ wine. Hints of fresh truffle on the finish, with rhubarb and pomegranate freshness." Roger Jones,www.the-buyer.net, UK
