Peregrine Pinot Gris 2024
"A wine from Central Otago – with organic fruit from Bendigo Pisa in the blend as well – 2023 was a great vintage for Central Otago. A pale silvery green colour in the glass. The perfume has stone fruit and citrus as its core elements, but also tarragon, hazelnut, fennel and oat biscuit. The saline acidity leads a wine that is quite powerful and rich through the palate. Some tannin and nutty oak also provide a base for that ripe fruit to shine. Creamy, almost buttery in texture, but balanced with a chalky minerality that adds depth and the whole is quite rounded and harmonic. A fine effort, with a very long, unctuous finish." 94 Points, David Walker Bell, Wine Folio
"Quivering new release aromas of fresh green pear and apple, a mineral quartz saline quality. Fresh, ripe and exuberant. Just dry on the palate with core flavours of pomaceous fruits, apple and pear, a light white pepper spice and mineral baseline. Plenty of acidity and freshness, immediately drinkable and ready from day of purchase through 2028." 93 Points, Cameron Douglas MS
A subtle wine with hints of quince, sweet herbs, elderflower, green pear and mushroom. The crisp palate is equally restrained with a grainy texture and light body, finishing just off-dry and quietly sustained. Give it a few more months in bottle to express itself and enjoy over the near-term" 91 Points, Stephen Wong MW, The Real Review
"Aromas of cantaloupe, orange blossoms and yellow apples. The palate is medium-bodied with a generous mouthfeel and balanced acidity. Simple and clean. Drink now. Screw cap." 90 Points, James Suckling
