Reviews & Accolades

Renato Corino Barolo del Comune di La Morra DOCG 2020

"From the highly regarded La Morra commune, this is a pale garnet. The nose exhibits undergrowth notes, warm earth, truffles, red fruits, raspberries, red apples and florals. The structure here is tight and focused, with fresh, slightly citric acidity, with firm grip. It will provide pleasure for at least the next eight to ten years." 93 Points, Ken Gargett, Winepilot

"Strawberry, a truffle-like earthiness, some cedar and spice. It’s dry and red fruited, a little bit chewy and grainy in tannin, something of a blood orange and amaro tang, with a finish of solid length." 90 Points, Gary Walsh, The Wine Front

About this Producer

After 20 years together, Renato Corino and his brother Giuliano decided to split their family's renowned Barolo estate in 2005, allowing each to forge their own path under different labels. Renato's 8 hectare share in La Morra is mostly Nebbiolo along with some Barbera and Dolcetto. After going solo, Renato built a brand new state-of-the-art winery to steer production in the same perfectionist fashion that he runs his vineyards. The two brothers are still close and having always worked together as a team, are both producing classic and distinctive La Morra Barolo from the famed Corino sites. Renato's son, Stefano, is also now working alongside his father in crafting these distinguished wines, including the famed Rocche dell’Annunziata cru.
