Renato Corino Barolo Rocche Dell Annunziata 2020
Renato Corino Barolo Rocche Dell Annunziata 2020
"Cherry, mint and menthol, sage, mocha and new leather. It’s crisp in acidity with something of a blood orange tang, cherry and fresh strawberry, a grainy grip and tea-like character to tannin, quite sappy and savoury, with some warmth on a finish of excellent length. Not my preferred style, as such, though I reckon it will be better with some years in bottle." 93+ Points, Gary Walsh, The Wine Front
After 20 years together, Renato Corino and his brother Giuliano decided to split their family's renowned Barolo estate in 2005, allowing each to forge their own path under different labels. Renato's 8 hectare share in La Morra is mostly Nebbiolo along with some Barbera and Dolcetto. After going solo, Renato built a brand new state-of-the-art winery to steer production in the same perfectionist fashion that he runs his vineyards. The two brothers are still close and having always worked together as a team, are both producing classic and distinctive La Morra Barolo from the famed Corino sites. Renato's son, Stefano, is also now working alongside his father in crafting these distinguished wines, including the famed Rocche dell’Annunziata cru.
