Sons of Eden Remus Shiraz 2021
Sons of Eden Romulus Old Vine Barossa Valley Shiraz 2021
Old-vine, 50-plus-year-old shiraz sourced from several sites across the Barossa Valley. Bright red and dark plummy fruits cut with exotic spice, violet and jasmine top notes, licorice, dark chocolate and Barossa earth. Detail and line are recurring themes in the SoE wines; nothing overblown or over the top, just pure, spicy fruit, a graceful passage across the palate and a distinct regional thumbprint. It's drinking nicely now but will improve with careful cellaring.

"I did three unit ancient history for my final years at school, and I’m proud to say that my eldest son is carrying on this proud tradition by not only doing ancient history, but also modern history. A chip off the old block. Aside that, Central Eden Valley 80+ year-old vines | Central Eden Valley 60+ year-old vines| Flaxmans Valley 80+ year-old vines, with 60% new French oak.
Here’s a sweetly black fruited Shiraz of concentration and density. There’s sage and cocoa, mint/liquorice, sweet spices too, hazelnut, melting chocolaty tannin, balanced acidity, a little bit ferrous too, with a ripe, almost syrupy essence-like finish of excellent length. It’s a lot of wine, bold, and rich, but very good in that way." 94 Points, Gary Walsh, The Wine Front
