Thousand Candles Gathering Field Nouveau Pinot Noir 2022
I love the style of this. It starts off fruity and forward but it turns chalky and dry through the back half. It offers ample spice, and smoky/reductive notes, and indeed in the end it plays the savoury card ahead of the fruit, which is a good thing. But there’s that light delivery of strawberries/red berried/refreshing fruit to be enjoyed here too, and savouriness combined with refreshing fruit is always good to be around.

Thousand Candles Gathering Field Nouveau Pinot Noir 2022
Natural yeast fermentation with carbonic maceration in stainless steel. Bottled unfined and unfiltered. A light, bright crimson purple. A crunchy fruited red with aromas of red cherries, blood oranges and dried herbs. Tangy, with grippy, gently chewy tannins, this would be best served chilled slightly and with food over the next 12 to 24 months.
